Yoga teaches us to use the body as the bow, asana as the arrow and the soul the target” B.K.S Iyengar,  Namaste

What got me into yoga? I started taking classes years ago at a local studio. I fell in love with the class, especially the breath work and meditation. The owners approached me and encouraged me to begin my yoga teacher certification. That was 12 years ago! It has been an amazing journey ever since. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. It has been a constant struggle to quiet my mind and be present. I am definitely a “Yogi” work in progress. Yoga is a journey, both on and off the mat. I am proof that yoga keeps the body healthy and the mind calm. I always tell my students, if I can do it, so can you. There is always a way to make poses work for your body, mind and soul. I love how each student brings their own uniqueness to practice in every class. Yoga really is for everyone and every body.

Why Yoga?
Yoga is a great escape and a highlight to my day.  It gives me good flexibility and makes me feel much more alert. I get a better balance both physically and mentally.
What is your favorite class format and why?
Hot Yoga for sure! I always think “the hotter the better….”plus I like the poses and the flow of the class.  Nothing beats walking out drenched on a cool day.
How has Yoga made a difference in your everyday life?
I feel like it makes my day complete, it improves my concentration and perspective.  We have great instructors that encourage the evolution of mindfulness.
